Conversations with Friends — Tina Vlassopulos

'Conversations with Friends" was an installation produced specifically for Collect Open which took place at the Saatchi Gallery London in 2019.

It consists of 14 ceramic, abstract portraits of Vlassopulos’ friends representing each one’s character, disposition and psyche in a subjective and symbolic way.

It was made in defiance of the cacophony of the digital age, challenging the prevalence of one-way communication and as a celebration of friendship and the spirit of the individual offering thoughts on friendship, dialogue and the importance of conversation.
